Early Intervention

Early Intervention

Supporting your child's earliest developmental milestones through family-centered therapy.

What Is Early Intervention?

Early Intervention (EI) is a state-funded program for infants and toddlers (birth to age 3) who show developmental delays or have conditions that may affect their development. Therapy Care is a credentialed Early Intervention provider in Illinois, partnering with Child and Family Connections offices to deliver speech, occupational, and physical therapy services — often right in your home. Research shows that early, targeted support during these critical developmental windows leads to the best long-term outcomes.

What is Early Intervention?

Early Intervention is a statewide program that provides support and services for your family to help your children which are under the age of three (3) meet developmental milestones. Your child’s brain and body are growing rapidly during the first three years of life. They are learning many new things about the world around them. While all children need love and support to grow and learn, some children need a little extra help. An early intervention team can support your family and help your child reach their full potential.

Evaluation of your child and service coordination are no cost to you or your family. Once an evaluation is completed, if your child is eligible for services the fees are based on a sliding scale. In general the scale determines a family’s ability to pay for these services. A family deemed unable to pay for needed services will not be denied. Medicaid is billed for services as well as other insurance, with the family’s permission.

Each State administers their early intervention program differently. For information on your state, please find information on the states we provide services in below.
